Well now that she has been revealed, she is truely a lovely ol' gray mare. Who says the old' gray ain't what she used to be....LOL Is this your first dealing with a gaited horse? I have watched a few Paso Fino shows in TV in the past and they are special little horses. I have not heard of the Luso' and Paso' crosses though, I find that very intersting. I am very interested in the results of this foal and if it will inherit that pretty Paso' gait. I wish you the very best results and that all goes well with Rosita she really looks good in her pics. You know me, I can not resist a pretty gray mare.

Actually, when I met Eric he was training and showing Pasos Finos. His dad imported a bunch of broodstock from Columbia and had quite a breeding/showing operation. I have trained and shown quite a bit too - just LOVE those little horses with all that brio! The Paso shows were just great too - very competative and the after hours parties.....oh those latins know how to have a good time! They are great breeders too; I learned a ton in that area also! Rosita is very line/inbred. One of the most famous stallions, Resorte IV, is listed in her 9 generation pedigree 64 times. The champions she has produced were all full siblings, so she is pretty consistant. Also, she has a few Lusitanos in her lines. Every nine generations, they add a Lusitano for size and heat. I have always loved the Pasos, just kind of small and I like a trotting horse. The foal may be gaited but by the next generation it should not - be interesting though! Actually, I still have a Paso - the one grey gelding out of Rosita. I also have a full brother, stallion (that needs a home....well, they BOTH need a home!), plus one 8 yr. old mare that is not broke but that is the plan for this summer. Here is a pict of Brioso:

The mare that needs started... Contessa?? If its the mare I'm thinking of, she's beautiful. I call dibs on her! I haven't even had a chance to ride a paso yet.. and you promised a long time ago... That is a gorgeous picture of Brioso. He's adorable. And the stallion.. uhhhh Indio? I thought he was gelded.. what the heck are you gonna do with him?

Okay, you can have dibs on the Paso mare! Brioso needs a job too - he is just sitting around keeping Mario company. Yes, I still have Indio and he is not gelded. I am hoping to find a home for him soon...

Brioso is a good looking horse. I am always in awe of the Paso's when i see them on TV, they at times make me think of a wind up toy. I understand they are a very smooth ride, and good for those with back problems. I would love to ride one one day.
